Well it has been one year

Well we have been here one year now. I know because the first thing that we did after unloading the u-haul truck was to go on a fishing trip (yes even before unpacking the boxes). The fishing season is once again upon us. Dave and Al tried to rush it-their motto being "you can't catch a fish with your line out of the water" or is it "a bad day of fishing is better than a good day of housework"? Well you get the point anyway. Mother nature did not co-operate very well. We have had an unseasonably windy spring. Most weekends the wind was 25-45 mph. On weekends when the forecast was agreeable the 2 of them headed out. Try as Dave might he was not able to catch a fish larger than Alan's record of 26". He came close with a couple measuring 25".
.
Alan has found the perfect lure and the necessary technique to out fish most everybody on the lake. This pleases him to no end. Dave would like to take the credit for Alan's success by suggesting the unthinkable. After some research we found the perfect live bait to use for catching these fish. Dave and I both thought Alan would be delighted with our new found knowledge but we were both wrong. The bait happens to be a critter that he considers a pet. Consequently pets are not bait. Miraculously Alan began to out fish everyone.
They got to the point they only kept fish over 18". They are too much work to clean.
