The Last Day of Fishing

Dave and Alan were both happy "not to get skunked" on the last day of the trip. By now at least I have lost count of how many fish they ended up with.

After a week spent with the luxury of fishing guides who have boats their last adventure was to try their luck on their own doing a little bank fishing. This can be tricky business. It looks innocent enough here.

Still it looks manageable in this photo.

But this photo shows the whole truth. The Object: manage to cast without hitting your neighbor. Set the hook, again be wary of that neighbor. Reel in the angry fish, who did not want your line in the first place, without tangling up said neighbor's line or he will be angry too. Accomplish all of this while being sleep deprived because you spent the week burning the candle at both ends.

A total stranger came up to Alan and asked him where he was from then complimented him on holding his ground against all of the adults. Alan still claims to come from Utah even though he has been here a year.

This fishing trip targeted sockeye salmon; supposedly the best tasting salmon. They released everything that they caught because it would not have time to freeze before flying home. Unfortunately we won't be able to verify this information.

I can't believe you've already been there a year! That looks like it was some fishing trip! Pretty awesome to just have halibut to whip up at your house!
