This is the
Sandia Peak tram. It takes you to the top of the mountain where you might enjoy dinner, hiking, biking, or skiing in the winter. It was put in 1964 at a cost of 2 million dollars. It is the longest tram traveling 2.7 miles. It has a vertical rise of over 3800 feet. The car holds 50 people. The tram moves at 20 feet per second.

The view is amazing. We can find our apartment from
Sandia Peak.
Sandia is
Spanish for
watermelon.

We love the
Cibola National Forrest because it reminds us of the mountains in Utah.
Cibola is
Indian for
buffalo.

The Peak is at an elevation of 10,000 feet. Hikers beware "altitude sickness" is a real danger.

It can be cold up here. On average it is 20 degrees cooler at the top of the mountain than it is at the bottom of the mountain.

Thanks for coming to visit Bret and Jamie we had a wonderful time. We will miss you.
